How to identify a robot part number
An exact Part # is usually the fastest way to separate a compatible replacement from a component that merely looks similar.
Where to look
Check the component label, engraved housing, connector-side sticker, packaging, invoice, service manual and manufacturer parts diagram. Photograph the complete label before removing the component.
Part #, model and serial number are different
- Part number: identifies a component design or orderable item.
- Model number: may identify a product family or assembled device.
- Serial number: usually identifies one individual unit.
Verify more than the number
Confirm manufacturer, revision, voltage, current, connector, dimensions, mounting pattern, communication protocol, firmware requirements and environmental rating.
When listing a part
Enter the Part # exactly as printed, preserve hyphens, include clear label photos, and state whether the number belongs to the component or the larger assembly.
